Lesson learned building mybirth.day: there are four ways to make an event go away, and they shouldn't feel the same to the people who said yes. Cancel tells everybody on the list, and the page stays up so nobody turns up by mistake. If the sky clears, the host can put it back on. Archive takes it off your own list. Nobody is told, and the link still works. Delete takes the page down, but you can restore it. The confirm dialog says it plainly: cancel instead if people are expecting it. Delete for good is the only one that's final. The worst outcome isn't a messy list. It's someone standing at the door of a party that quietly stopped existing. mybirth.day/get
