part of the issue with macOS is you can't see from this view the sub-processes that a lot of these agents spawn and the memory they have. I find things like codex, claude etc... they all have this issue where they are just running a bunch of instances and child processes.
Exactly, the issue was a PHP process leaking. I'll did because it had a 2G memory limit.
