🚀 Arco v0.6.0: S3 storage and DynamoDB tables for Laravel on AWS Lambda
Arco is an open-source tool that deploys Laravel to AWS Lambda Web Functions with FrankenPHP and Octane. With this release, Arco creates the AWS resources your app needs, straight from arco.php.
S3 storage, one line
->storage('uploads', public: ['public/'], expire: ['tmp/' => 1])
or arco storage:add uploads
🪣 Creates a private, encrypted S3 bucket and wires it into Laravel: Storage::put() just works, and every bucket is also a named disk (Storage::disk('uploads')).
🌍 Public folders: files under public/ are readable by anyone, and the rest of the bucket stays private. Storage::url() returns working links.
🧹 Expiring folders: tmp/ cleans itself up after a day.
🔗 CORS when your frontend uploads directly.
DynamoDB cache and failed jobs
->cache()
->failedJobsTable()
⚡ An on-demand cache table, with DynamoDB TTL removing expired items. It works even if your config/cache.php still uses Bref’s id/ttl naming.
🗂 Failed jobs stored in DynamoDB, no database needed.
Built to keep your data safe
📦 Remove a bucket or table from arco.php and Arco keeps it in AWS with its data. The deploy tells you what was kept.
🔒 A bucket name already taken, a retained resource added back, or an account that blocks public buckets: the deploy stops before changing anything and tells you what to do.
🔌 existing: to use a bucket or table you already have.
✅ The deploy checks your app has the packages it needs (S3 driver, AWS SDK) before touching AWS.
Also since v0.5: SQS queues with one worker per queue, a DLQ safety net and queue:list / queue:dlq; a scheduler you can pause without a deploy; and every message in English or Spanish (--lang=es).
Coming next: arco init detects what your app uses (queues, scheduler, storage, cache) and sets it up for you.
composer require multiapi/arco
vendor/bin/arco init
vendor/bin/arco deploy
MIT-licensed and free. If you run Laravel on AWS, give it a try and tell me what’s missing.
