That
.idea directory is driving me crazy. I'm looking for a definitive answer on whether it should be in VCS or not. There's lots of opinions saying "Yes, but..." and "No, but..."
There's this:…No. BUT there might be e.g. some debugging setups configured, that are practically useful for other project members.
I'd solve this differently though if that is the case; an optional project included script that could configure it for you perhaps.
directories that belong to the editors should be ignored.
I may not use phpstorm or whatever to need the .idea folder.
I honestly think that jetbrains should save that elsewhere, my opinion...
It shouldn't. All editor and os ignores should be in your global git ignore. (
~/.config/git/ignore)
