nice and compact. one thing i'd watch: time() + the original name can collide if two uploads with the same filename land in the same second. have you tried $file->store() with the hashed name instead?

For example, the generated filename is

ah true, the timestamp prefix does it. the only edge left is two users uploading the same filename in the same second, which is rare enough on most apps
