I have the same question. But then, Microsoft/GitHub is the obvious acquirer.
It remains to be seen whether this social network is sufficiently profitable to make a buyer interested in acquiring it.
Microsoft would not be buying it to monetize it. They would be buying to make Github more attractive as a product.
