It is natural for programmers to feel worried and discouraged about the expansion of AI and the possibility of losing their jobs.
Although advances in AI will create new job opportunities, many programmers may not have enough time to learn new skills and transition into AI-related fields.
Of course, some programmers may be able to remain in the industry by keeping their knowledge and skills up to date, and they may even continue working as programmers throughout their entire professional lives. However, there is no guarantee that everyone will have the same opportunity.
Therefore, I recommend learning other skills alongside programming so that you have more career options if the job market changes. For example, you could learn practical, hands-on trades such as automotive mechanics, plumbing, electrical work, masonry, or other skilled trades.
It is better not to rely on a single skill or profession for the future. Developing a diverse range of skills can provide greater career security and give us alternative ways to earn a living when circumstances become challenging.
