HTML was born in 1993, JS in 1995, and CSS in 1996. These technologies are old enough to complain about lower back pain. Why are we still building the modern web with them? 👴💻
The development of the train and railways did not phase out wagon trails, just as the automobile did not phase out rails, and tractors still haven't fully phased out horse plows. Not only would it be a waste to tear up the old infrastructure in favor of the new, there are many groups and areas that cannot take benefit of the new, or are not ready to, or have no desire to. It's really about as harmonious a meshing of various ways including the antiquated, rather than forcing the new as always the best way.

Well said. Backward compatibility and the massive existing infrastructure make it almost impossible to completely replace HTML/CSS/JS. They evolve instead of being replaced.
