βοΈ 3 extra Intelligence points. Nearly 8x the cost. Is it worth it?
According to the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index v5.0:
π’ GPT-6.1 Sol (max): 55 Intelligence β $1.27 per Index task
π΅ Claude Opus 5.5 (max): 58 Intelligence β $10.04 per Index task
π Opus scores just 3 points higher, but costs nearly 8x as much per benchmark task.
So, which model actually offers better value?
π I built an open-source project that makes this trade-off easier to evaluate. It combines Intelligence and Cost per task into configurable rankings, with separate scoring settings for light and heavy tasks.
π Under the default heavy-task settings, GPT-6.1 Sol (max) ranks #1, while Claude Opus 5.5 (max) ranks #9 in my current comparison.

π The rankings use a configurable, project-defined metric, not an official Artificial Analysis score. Actual costs will also depend on your workload.
π¬ Would you choose the highest intelligence score, or the best balance between capability and cost?
