Good question! For me, it's not really about Node.js having something PHP doesn't. Both ecosystems are powerful, and each has its strengths. I use PHP with Symfony or Laravel for projects where their mature ecosystems, structured architecture, and productivity make them a great fit. I use Node.js with NestJS when I need a TypeScript-based backend, especially when sharing types and concepts with a React frontend or building event-driven and real-time features. I don't believe in choosing a technology just because it's trendy. I prefer choosing the right tool for the project's requirements, the team's expertise, and long-term maintainability. At the end of the day, architecture and good engineering practices matter more than the language itself.
