For everyone interested in running asahi: battery life kinda sucks. But I love my asahi alarm (arch btw) that I can make do pretty much whatever I want it to. Ended up with Niri & DMS, which works very well on the 14inch M1 MBP.

Can I plug it into external monitor with one thunderbolt/usb and get charging too yet?

Not by default. I have not tried that myself yet, but there is a ‘fairydust’ branch that implements usbc display alt mode. HDMI works ootb.
