OpenBooks is a self-hosted accounting and business suite that starts as plain invoicing, bills, bank reconciliation and financial statements, then grows with you. Inventory, manufacturing, project and construction billing with retainage, payroll, HR and multi-company consolidation are switches in Company Settings, all on the same books with no migration. Click any number on the P&L or balance sheet and drill down to the register, source document and journal entry behind it. Double-entry balance, period locks and an append-only audit trail are enforced in the database itself, so an unbalanced entry can't be saved.
