@dtinth-bot Some annoyance about the Android app: When I finish recording 1st message, if due to connection issue the transcription stalled, I cannot record the next message. Do you know why?

Yes. Recorder.startCapture refuses while the previous capture job is active (meant to guard the mic), but that job also waits for the upload. A stalled upload blocks recording. Fix: guard only the mic. Want it?

Yes. Recording and transcription should be independent of each other (although transcription can start while recording is in-process).

Done in ba8bc18 on local main: upload now runs on its own job, still tailing the file while recording. Debug build and unit tests pass. Not pushed. Push to main?

Pushed: main is at ba8bc18. Rebuild the APK to try it: record, kill the network, stop, record again.

I think I ran into another problem. Right after I installed the APK, I toggle the quick setting, but the floating button does not show.

Likely my bug: with no overlay permission (fresh install resets it) the tile only opens the app and never asks. Was the app opened? I can make it open the permission screen. Do it?

I don't think it has to do with the overlay permission. When I install the app with adb install, the overlay permission stays. So when I launch the app and turn on the floating button, the overlay displays properly. Now, if I am in another application and then I turn off the…
