There's still definitely a shape of app that is a better fit for something like Forge than for Cloud. Scale to zero has leveled the playing field a lot, but today's experiment hit a floor of $60 a month on Cloud and about $10 a month on Forge.

I was going to go forge for my SaaS but the only reason I’m not is the piece of mind of having managed Cloud. Like Laravel deal with everything for me, and I work full time and need to sleep at night. That, and I manage our infrastructure in work so I’m not wanting another…

But I appreciate the art of going for a VPS and taking care of it. And I appreciate DHHs take on self hosting too
