What tool does everyone use to manage their PHP dev sites? I personally use https://yerd.app and I've been loving it thus far, especially the SMTP mail trap.

YerdYerd - Local PHP development environment for macOS & LinuxA fast, rootless, open-source local PHP development environment for macOS and Linux. Serve .test sites over HTTP and HTTPS, run a different PHP version per site, and manage databases, mail, and tooling from one tiny daemon - a Laravel Herd alternative.

I use DDEV, as a bonus you can use https://knecht.works for preview environments and building automations.

KnechtAI Workflows for DDEV ProjectsKnecht boots your DDEV projects on your own server, works the ticket in the running project, and opens a pull request with a preview.

I looked into DDEV but I didn't want Docker on my Mac because I've historically had very poor performance on sites served via Docker on macOS. To be fair, this was more than 5 years ago so things have probably gotten better, but once bitten twice shy and all that 😅

There changed a lot! Recently I read something that docker is nearly as performant on the mac as on linux

Oooh neat, I’ll check it out next time I’m retooling my dev setup then, thanks! 🤩
