Been vibing a agentic loop setup for the product I’m building, so customers can do conversational work. Borrowed a few ideal from Durable Objects and celld.dev. But, a lot of what those do I do not need. I just need fairness in turn scheduling, so focusing on that alone.
celld.devcelld: Durable Objects, self-hostedcelld is an open-source daemon that runs a Cloudflare Workers application on your own machines, including Durable Objects, KV, Queues, D1, and R2.
Scheduling agentic work is a very different beast when comparing to normal event stream processing. The design I went with uses attention slots, one per agent session. Agents and users share a thread, and agents read messages and maintain a cursor so see what messages they have responded to. This cooperative thread work decoupled the UI interactions from the agent that works in the background.

It’s been a bit of a ride getting the design down, but feeling pretty good about the latest iterations. Feel like I can distill some new primitives out of this with all these new kinds of workflows.
