Okay, so I have a hot take on AI made design, specifically web design when it comes to the look and feel of a site / product / saas / whatever.
Yes, it should be designed by humans. Yes, it does need care and consideration. Yes, paying humans for their work is genuinely a good thing.
But, they do cost money, a not insignificant amount of money either.
When I am starting a project, I want to get it out of my brain, onto the screen in a way that works, as quickly as possible. With zero users, let alone paying users, I can't justify paying someone to design and then implement an amazing UI/UX. There's not even data about how people use the thing that might inform the design. Zero people to ask.
I also want the thing to not look incoherent with the least amount of styling possible.
AI does a good enough job to make it look okay, have usable accessibility, so I can put the project in front of users.
Then, if and when I the project becomes large enough that it has paying users, and I can both afford to pay humans for design, and have users to ask about using the thing, I can involve humans.
Zero -> Exists, AI design is fine actually
Exists -> Has paying users, AI design was good enough to get here
Has paying users -> Tons of users, this is where I want to involve humans
(all of this assumes I'm bootstrapping the ideas. I have no idea how VC route goes. At what stage do people stand in front of VCs to ask for money so they can pay humans from the start?)
