In the world of AI design, how are backend developers with no frontend/design knowledge making designs what don't feel AI?! Asking for a friend .... that friend is trying to become more self sufficient and not make slop (Human or AI).

Feed it inspiration or references you like.
It can't work off of statements like, "Design me a modern portfolio site using swiss minimal design". It's too wishy-washy. That will just look AI generated.
It also likes a design system that you can then ask it to make features from before building up the screen/page further.
