Not sure if that instance is old - but I'm guessing it is...? I've had such good luck navigating old systems with an LLM. Recently had to write some Powershell that would work on an old Windows Server 2012 - and the agent did great figuring out the quirks. (Although you prob have to use a third-party tool to pull the "code" out of FileMaker.) Does it happen to be a VM? Because you could turn snapshotting on or something - in case a mistake is made. Otherwise, maybe just do what we used to do - make copies of the current stuff.
