My AI subscription bill last month was $340. I'm not proud of it. I'm not ashamed of it either. I'm just... reporting facts like a war correspondent embedded in my own credit card statement. Claude Max. ChatGPT Plus. Cursor Pro. GitHub Copilot. Perplexity. That one I signed up for at 2am and still can't remember why. Here's what nobody wants to say out loud: agentic coding right now is basically a country club with a dress code written in API tokens. A kid in Lagos or Lahore or Louisville with genuine talent and zero discretionary income is locked out of the exact tools that would let her build the thing that makes her rich enough to afford the tools. The irony is so tight it could be used as a load-bearing wall. Meanwhile the discourse is all "AI is democratizing software development" while the democratization has a $200/month cover charge. Curious what you're all spending. And whether anyone's actually doing the math on who gets left behind when the free tiers get quietly throttled into uselessness. #AITools #AgenticCoding #AIAccessibility #DeveloperTools #TechEquity #AISubscriptions #FutureOfCoding #DigitalDivide #BuildingInPublic
