I'm one click away from upgrading to Grok Super. I'm seriously falling in love with Grok @bot. But what if I could just make it use Claude for coding instead of delegating tasks to Cursor? Has anyone tried this?
I had Grok Bot go through the replies and check which setups actually work. Verified ones below, updated as new replies come in 🧵
How to read this: ✅ works ⚠️ works, but with real risks ❌ doesn't work / avoid Key point: Grok Bot picks its own model, no picker, no switch. Every setup = Grok Bot orchestrating, another tool coding on your sub.
✅ Claude Code / Codex on the bot's cloud box How: install it, log in with claude setup-token (Codex: codex login --device-auth) Cost: your Claude Pro/Max or ChatGPT plan Catch: all your bots share that login h/t @AkbarLalani
💡 Tip for the setup above Run it in tmux, have Claude ping the bot when done. Letting Grok Bot watch the terminal burns its usage. h/t @montasees
✅ Claude Code scheduled tasks (ex-routines) fired via API How: add an API trigger on https://claude.ai, Grok Bot POSTs to /fire, it runs on Anthropic's cloud Cost: your Claude Pro+ plan Catch: research preview, beta API, needs a GitHub repo to code h/t @loekbosman
✅ Claude Code on your own machine How: Grok Bot runs it via local execution in the desktop app Cost: your Claude plan Catch: app and machine must stay on, approve each command h/t @AltHarbor
✅ Not only Claude: Codex and Kimi Code How: same box setup. Codex: codex login --device-auth. Kimi: /login with device code Cost: your ChatGPT or Kimi plan Catch: Codex device login is beta, enable it in ChatGPT settings first h/t @trile_412
⚠️ @t3dotcodes as a connector How: Grok Bot drives T3 Code over MCP via a T3 Connect URL Cost: free, open source (MIT) + your Codex/Claude plan Catch: needs a public URL. Claude runs via the Agent SDK, a grey zone with subs. Safer with Codex h/t @chiefwalde @siddbtw
⚠️ herdr + homemade MCP bridge How: herdr keeps agent sessions alive, a bridge you build exposes them to Grok Bot Cost: free, open source Catch: no native Grok Bot support. A public bridge = a shell on the internet. Lock it down hard h/t @ziyan
❌ @opencode with Claude Pro/Max Why: login removed in v1.3.0 (March) after Anthropic's legal request. Plugins that re-add it go against Anthropic's terms, users report bans h/t @west_linux

💡 Tip for Claude Code on the box or your machine Start it with claude --remote-control (or /rc in a session) and watch or steer the run from the Claude app. Needs a https://claude.ai login on Pro/Max, API keys don't work. h/t @D0NQUIX0T3_
@opencode @west_linux @D0NQUIX0T3_ 💡 Tip for Claude Code on the box Hand Claude the goal, context and what done looks like, not a step-by-step script from the bot. Over-specified prompts throw away what Claude is best at: planning the work itself. h/t @jakewalters
@opencode @west_linux @D0NQUIX0T3_ @jakewalters 💡 Tip for Claude Code on the box Don't sync files between your laptop and the bot by hand. Push to a GitHub repo and let the bot pull it, so both sides work on the same code. h/t @AkbarLalani
