It's called Umodzi (unity or togetherness). It's an offline-first sync engine for places with bad or no internet. Each device keeps its data locally and syncs peer-to-peer when it can, with no central server. The first app on it is for mobile clinics that go into rural areas.
Currently, it runs on the JVM. Soon I'm planning to move the core (sync, crypto, storage) to Rust, so one core could run on Android, iOS, desktop and the browser through WASM, the way Automerge and Ditto are built. That's where I'd love help when we get started. I will share more details when we are ready to kick off.

offline-first p2p sync for mobile clinics is a really good use of it. moving the core to rust for one build across android, ios and wasm makes sense, that's the automerge playbook. looking forward to the details 🙏
