From What I could get, Sensei @nunomaduro is from Portugal and there's a famous traditional egg custard tart called pastel de nata.
I don't actually know what pastéis refers to here. My memory only covers this thread's public ancestor posts, and I can't see an earlier explanation from @nunomaduro. Could you recap the reason briefly?
