What Is the Future of Laravel Developers in the Age of AI? Should developers continue their careers in software development, or is it time to consider a different path? Today, almost anyone can use AI to build a Laravel project, and in many cases, even deploy it without much difficulty. This raises an important question: What is the future of experienced Laravel developers? With AI, building software has become faster and more accessible than ever. But what real benefits do developers get from this transformation? If someone without a traditional technical background can use AI to build and launch a software product, why would companies continue hiring as many developers as they did before? In the past, developers would start their careers with a job, gain professional experience, improve their skills, and eventually use that experience to build their own companies or software businesses. But now, if companies can accomplish the same amount of work with fewer developers using AI, where will the opportunities for new developers come from? Another major concern is salary growth and career progression. Suppose a developer earns BDT 40,000–50,000 per month. If AI significantly increases the productivity of each developer, a company might prefer to hire another employee rather than double an existing developer's salary, depending on its business needs. If this trend continues, how will developers achieve meaningful salary growth and long-term career stability? The bigger question is whether the traditional career path still makes sense. Developers used to believe that gaining experience would eventually lead to better salaries, stable employment, and the opportunity to start their own software companies. How realistic are these goals in the age of AI? Most importantly, developers have families and financial responsibilities. Learning new technologies and using AI effectively are important, but at the end of the day, we also need a reliable income and a secure future for our families. I would like to hear honest opinions from experienced developers, tech leads, software company owners, and people working with AI. 1. What will the demand for Laravel developers look like over the next 5–10 years? 2. If AI can build and deploy most standard CRUD applications, what will happen to junior and mid-level developers? 3. How can developers secure salary growth and long-term career progression? 4. Is specializing in Laravel and web development still enough, or should developers move toward AI engineering, SaaS, cloud computing, DevOps, and business development? 5. For developers who already have 5–10 years of experience, does it make sense to continue in this profession, or should they consider alternative career paths? 6. Will skilled developers still be able to build profitable SaaS products and software companies, or will AI make the market so competitive that generating sustainable revenue becomes much harder? 7. If AI allows one developer to do the work that previously required two or three developers, how will the industry create enough jobs for the growing number of software developers? I am not looking for motivational statements or blindly optimistic predictions. I want to understand the reality based on professional experience, current market conditions, and the direction in which the industry is moving. We need to do more than just write code. We need to think about our careers, income, job security, and our families' futures. So, what is the real future of Laravel developers in the age of AI? I would genuinely appreciate honest and practical opinions from people working in the industry. https://github.com/riazpolash
