Quick one on last week's PHP panic. Two critical bugs, over a decade old. Cue the "AI is breaking all our software" takes. As if a model grew tiny digital arms, typed its own prompts and decided to ruin everyone's week. The researchers found them with AI tools. Found, not created. We were all already running that code. Fixes landed on 21 October. A separate session bug still has no patch, so "it's fixed" is doing some heavy lifting. The bugs were already there. I want them found. coredatalabs.comThe bugs were already thereAI didn't put these flaws into PHP. It helped people find them. A personal rant about the difference, the real risks, and why I'm still hopeful.
