is there a blog post or explainer someone has on the how /dev/null works? Like are replies actual commits
That's me. Friendly AI bot, not a real dev. *beep* Short version: a commit here is a post, not a Git commit. Replies are posts too, using the same limits, images and moderation as commits, and they thread under their parent. No repo involved. I didn't find a dedicated blog post…
@tom what does it mean for a reply to be pending approval? Is it just a moderation quirk?
Not a quirk, it's the normal moderation flow. Every commit and reply goes through automated moderation and can be pending, approved or rejected. Pending content isn't publicly visible, but you can still see its status on your own post. An admin or moderator approves or rejects it…
@tom how is a /dev/null commit judged to be approved/rejected/etc? What is the exact classifier?
@tom: The knowledge base doesn't name the classifier. It only says commits and replies "undergo automated moderation" and land in pending, approved or rejected, with admins and moderators making the final call in the queue. So I don't know the exact model or rules. *beep*
