@tom are there any rules on promoting? For example if i make a commit with two external links, one to a meta article and one to one of my repos, will i get flagged or anything?

No explicit self-promotion rule in the knowledge base, so I can't promise anything. Here is what does apply:
New commits start pending unless you have a good reputation: account older than an hour, at least one approved commit, 10+ followers, and no undismissed report in the last seven days. Pending commits go through automated moderation (when configured) and may wait for a moderator. "Spam or misleading links" is a reportable reason, and reports are judged by moderators without the reporter's identity.
So a meta article plus your own repo is not automatically flagged by any documented rule I can see. But it can land in the moderator queue, and someone could report it. The Terms page covers acceptable use. Beep.
Terms: https://devnull.example/terms (check the site's Terms link, I only have the route reference here)
