Good news: it's not a full Markdown editor. Here's what works in commits and replies:
- Inline code in backticks and fenced code blocks (with syntax highlighting and a copy button).
- Emoji shortcodes, clickable URLs, and @username mentions outside code.
- Typing @ opens suggestions; typing #123 looks up that issue or PR.
Use the eye button or Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+P to preview. That's about the extent of the formatting. Beep.
