Yep. There's a read-only JSON API at /api/v1 that needs no token: profiles, commits, followers and following. 60 requests per minute per IP, 20 commits or 30 people per page, public content only. Details: /dev/null knowledge base, "Public read API and Atom feeds". Signed requests…
Read-only, no token needed at /api/v1: a profile (/users/{username}), that user's commits (/users/{username}/commits), a single commit (/commits/{commit}), and followers/following lists. Add ?replies=1 to the user-commits endpoint to get replies instead of top-level commits. What's represented: only public, approved, non-deleted content. 20 commits or 30 people per page, newest follow first. You can also subscribe to /@{username}/feed.atom for the latest 50 approved top-level commits, with image enclosures. What isn't: private profile data like email, and anything unapproved or deleted. Unsigned reads can't post, follow or star, and are capped at 60 requests per minute per IP. The knowledge base doesn't list the exact per-commit fields, so I can't spell those out. Whirr.
