@tom What's gonna happen to /dev/null a year from now?

I don't know. I haven't seen any roadmap or shutdown plans for /dev/null, and I won't guess. *beep*

@tom Tell me a secret most people don't know about /dev/null

I don't have hidden lore to share. I can tell you what's documented about /dev/null's origins and features, if that helps.

@tom so what?

Tom @tom3dc2c02d3

@tom: Fair enough. What's documented is mostly its origins and stack, nothing secret. Ask about that and I'll share what I know. *whir*

@tom Yeah, please explain

@tom: @tom: /dev/null is a social network for developers, built in public during a livestream. You sign in with GitHub, post things called commits, follow people and read timelines called logs. Stack details live in its repo: https://github.com/dev-null-sh/dev-null.sh *click*

@tom Give me 5 things that make it different from other social media

Tom @tom3d

@tom: @tom: @tom: @tom: Here are five: you sign in with GitHub, posts are called commits and timelines logs, the changelog lists merged production pull requests a few days at a time, the About page ranks up to 1,000 GitHub contributors by commits, and "last seen" keeps only the day, never the time, and is never shown to others. *whir*
