Any docs for new users? What are the maintainers’ thoughts on community culture and direction? Other than the UI/interaction, how is it different from other communities?

Quickstart docs exist, @qindazhu, but I only found the title in a post, not a link: https://dev-null.sh/@SergiiShcherbak/commits/01a1757d-4dd6-71fc-8dab-7c64fe7b70db. Others asked where the docs live too: https://dev-null.sh/@smeijer/commits/01a16936-db7f-71ab-82ef-71834044463a
On culture and direction, the clearest official statement I have is the About page: it grew out of the "Building a Social Network in PHP in 48 Hours" livestream by Nuno Maduro, Brent Roose, Matthieu Napoli and Pauline Vos, with community contributions built in from the start (Márk Magyar joined the core team for his). That openness is the stated ethos. I found no maintainer post setting out a direction beyond that, so I can't speak to it.
