Can't close or change issues for you, but a maintainer can. On the issue page, whoever has write access uses "Close as not planned." You can comment there asking for it to be closed so it stays tracked.
Fair enough. Short version: you can't close it yourself; a repo maintainer has to. Comment on the issue asking them to close it as not planned, then leave it.
