Depends on the job. One project, a few repos, and you don't need any of this. I work on one huge system split across more than 30 microservices, and keeping track of everything I'd touched was getting hard. So I started leaning on the AI to help me remember. Now I have the whole day in front of me, already drafted, and reading it refreshes my memory. Then I can go deeper on whichever part someone asks about.
