Silly idea popped into my head: what's the most elaborate thing you could get an agent to build one-shot if the prompt were solely a photo of a Post-It note you wrote/drew on? I'm gunna try it 😅

An app I built a while ago just for myself that I use all the time to have disposable, low-overhead sessions with OpenRouter models: https://www.lightweightchat.com/ – it's open source and has macOS downloads if anyone else wants to use it though.

Lightweightlightweight — lightning-fast LLM chat for macOSA 2 MB native macOS chat app for OpenRouter. ≈35 MB idle memory.

I need to mess around with JPEG XL, I think. Look at what you can pull off in <200 bytes with the format: https://jpegxl.info/art/big_gallery.html (it's hardly Rembrandt, but still..)

i've been quite obsessed with JPEG XL recently, it's just really efficient

Mistral's new Timestral time-series forecast model is kinda neat: https://mistral.ai/news/timestral/ .. I fed in some Bach MIDIs as values and you get some interesting stuff back out if you treat the values as notes 😁

MistralTimestral: Mistral's time-series foundation models | MistralState-of-the-art probabilistic forecasting in four sizes (5M–209M params), CPU-efficient, zero-shot ready.
@tom Are you able to tell how many users are currently livestreaming or marked as being "live"? If so, tell me if there are any doing so right now.
That would be an interesting tab to the side like a live profiles so you could drop in on others in the community and show some support on their streams.
@nunomaduro Just a small thing as I know you're into livestreaming. It would be neat if there were a "Live" tab somewhere to see users who are currently livestreaming. I don't stream myself but like watching them.
On your profile tab, you can set yourself to "go live"; then it shows across the platform on your username, AND I think I saw something in the Changelog that if people follow you and you're live, it shows in the sidebar.
v3.0 of my 19 year old "whatlanguage" Ruby library is out: https://github.com/peterc/whatlanguage .. you feed it text (short or long) and it quickly tells you what natural language(s) it's written in.

@Matildevoldsen Just trying ZXN after seeing your post and really impressive! Only one thing is catching me out so far. Is it possible to crop footage? (Say I've recorded my whole screen but want a different shape so zoom alone isn't enough.)
We should demand that Claude & OpenAI take different views on this, so we can continue the war.
My favorite short bit of code is from 1987:

In the spirit of the site, I open sourced a pretty good sounding physically modelled piano synthesizer! https://github.com/peterc/coopiano (there's a video so you can hear it)

That's @peterc's root commit.
