I agree. AI is an incredible tool that has helped us save so much time. Used properly, it has a lot to offer. We’ve gone straight from the hoe to the tractor, skipping the ox-drawn plow.

If you’re sure, go for it. "Don’t reinvent the wheel” is only useful advice if you’re looking to save time and resources. But if you want to build your own solution, tailored to your needs, there’s no reason to wait.
we have AI, which is a big part of I can do it by myself now. else I would, like I did, use an existing solution xD

If you’re not reinventing the wheel, I’d say it’s fine. Or simply: if you want to do it, go for it.
I simply want to do it. I had it on shopify to avoid re inventing the wheel.
I am quite sure there are at least 5 ready made solutions that are self hosted that do this. I made my research a few years ago, when I was creating my shop in the first place :)

Well, if we’re going down that road, this is more of a seniors’ club than a social network.

“What time is it?” — “I like bananas.” That’s pretty much how the back-and-forth I read went. They were talking about quality, not the number of stars and replies.

By productivity, I certainly wasn’t referring to financial returns, but to the actual output of my work. I can see how you could come to that conclusion, though.

No, I don’t code just for the money. That’s what my day job is for. I code because I enjoy it.

I agree, as long as it stays that way. It’s still early days, after all, and I can easily see industry influencers joining the platform. It depends on how things evolve.

I wouldn’t be a developer if I didn’t enjoy it. But I have to say, you’re right.
I mean, I feel it too. But my side projects does not make money, so I guess is not really "productive" in terms of investment return 🤔.
Not sure if this makes sense, going after "shining things" is always easier.

That’s partly why LinkedIn worked. Hopefully, it won’t head in that direction.
That's @Cantilux's first reply.
