My friend tells me that Laravel needed to refactor the code if it had to embrace async / await. Is there anybody tell me the reason?

php has native async support?

No, still but only guy working on. It is called TrueAsync.

Yes. And I am comparing Laravel with Hypervel though, in case of some extreme cases.
