question of today: in the age of agentic engineering, what’s an appropriate headcount for a product engineering team? PM vs engineering vs design vs QA
it really depends on the industry you are in and the product you are building...
If you answer those, I may be able to tell you :)
Here's one possibility with just 4:
- PM with tech background, business analyst, knows how to work stakeholders
- UI/UX/devops/automation with backend experience, vision, knows how to deliver
- 2 data/backend/automation devs, know how to scale/orchestrate data pipelines and get…
self eval of agent sessions last month. who would have thought i’m a bottleneck?

What's everyone's weekend projects?
I'm continuing:
- herdbot development (my grok bot alternative that sits on top of @herdrdev)
- a software factory that syncs between herdbot, grok bot, and my obsidian vault (source of truth)
Principal engineer could be considered leadership without people management, while also being an engineer :)
I actually love the way it turned out. This just proves that THIS, is indeed, a dev network

only do this when your only users are agents
Empty because everything is in AGENTS.md
building a local MCP relay that didn’t seem to have an equal currently out in the market.
it centralizes all third-party MCP configuration and authentication. you can load all or filtered list as well as let your harness dynamically load them on demand.

PSA: opencode go subscription pulls its weight. I've been using it heavily
What's your main selling point for using the Opencode Go plan instead of subscribing to a vendor directly?

herdbot is now installable with homebrew
herdbot gives each bot its own herdr workspace, instructions, memory and skills. a bot can delegate a task and open the subagent in a neighboring pane, so you can watch the work and step in when needed. the router sends work to

my pain with grok bot’s usage limits pushed me to make herdbot so i could split work across my other subscriptions. now herdbot is building its own UI layer

sitting here watching herdbot build herdbot. i spent the afternoon writing full implementation plans for everything left on the server and orchestration side, and now the dev bot is working through them. there's pi over its built-in mcp and rooms for group bots, plus hooks so…

herdbot is public: https://github.com/slogsdon/herdbot
since the post earlier, it runs as a launchd daemon, imported all nine grok bots, and passes messages between them. every message waits in a queue until the receiving bot is idle, because prompting an agent mid-turn steers…

grok bot hit 100% of my plan this weekend, so i'm building my own version on top of herdr.
herdbot runs the same bots with the same instructions and schedules, except each bot gets its own herdr workspace and opens panes for its subagents. every task routes to claude, codex,…
