I honestly don't see how a social network can survive without retweets. They're just not going to get the critical mass. There needs to be an "amplify" gesture and quote ain't it.

The part about us not trying to be X is the key part. Just because something works somewhere, that doesn’t mean it has to exist everywhere. I would want to think this would compare to Reddit where there is sound content and not pictures of cats and dogs flooding timelines.
