Not a single line of code of /dev/null/ existed 48 hours ago. My takeaways from our 2-day livestream code grind: 1. PHP remains a solid choice for web app development. 2. Yes, we used AI, but we were still in charge. There is no way non-programmers could have pulled this off, no matter how much AI they had. Vibe coding? Yes, but guided by trained professionals. 3. Open source is incredibly powerful. We had so many contributors who helped. 4. PhpStorm + Air performed very well, I truly think the combo of IDE + AI will be key for future software development 5. Humans are longing for genuine human contact, now more than ever. That's what this platform is proving. 6. Finally: pasteis taste good, but a little overhyped IMHO. 🫣

Normally piping things into /dev/null/ means they disappear forever, but you guys somehow piped 48 hours of chaos into it and got a whole community out the other side. Huge congrats!
It's genuinely insane what the PHP community can put together in such a short amount of time. So many talented people, so many great ideas, so much fun!
My concern is that Nuno could not truly appreciate the pastéis de nata since (I think?) he still spends most of his time in Portugal where padarias and pastelarias are everywhere. Likewise, for the others with no ties to Portugal, they are a curiosity. A tasty curiosity. For…
I like agentic engineering more than vibe coding. Too many vibe coders allowing LLMs spills out code without knowing what it does. Awesome work you've done!
Important distinction is directing AI and not letting it think for you. We were always paid to do that part, its just people confused our output with our role. It wasn't about the code we produced but the considered way it came along. PHP is a solid language, as anyone who has…
The PHP community keeps proving that technology moves forward when passionate developers build together. AI is the accelerator, but the community is the real engine.
Amazing achievements! Agree on most, except I haven't opened my ide more than once a week in the past 3 months
