In my previous job we had what I think is almost the BEST setup. We develop on the develop/dev branch. this one is unstable we branch from it on the backend and when we merge into it, via MR/PR obviously, it would deploy to the Alpha environment. Alpha was unstable but the backend needed to be stable enough for the frontenders and QA work from it. When we were ready for a new release, we would merge dev into main/master and tagged. This would deploy the app into the Beta environment. QA tested the release in it, and some presentations to clients were shown on it. If QA did not find any issues, we would simply ship the current tag to prod.
