Hi /dev/null 👋 Kevin, PHP/Symfony dev and team lead from Germany. Currently busy with one question: how do you let AI agents write PHP without lowering the bar? My answer so far: quality gates first, speed second.

Hallo! Wie geht's dir?
if you're focusing on the speed or code quality, you are missing the most important part. You need to spend some time deciding what's "done". What is the expected outcome? What are the tests and condition that need to pass? what needs to be present on the PR? What needs to be documented (if you're doing documentation)? Giving the definition of what "done" looks like is more important than the rest, I would argue.
The more specific you are on the definition of the output, the better the progress is. And if takes longer, but one shots it, beats faster and need to redo two or three times

True, a definition of done or eventually a more spec driven workflow can help aswell :)
