herdbot is now installable with homebrew herdbot gives each bot its own herdr workspace, instructions, memory and skills. a bot can delegate a task and open the subagent in a neighboring pane, so you can watch the work and step in when needed. the router sends work to claude, codex, pi, or cursor agent, and can move to another subscription when one hits a limit. the project has grown beyond task routing. bots can message each other and work together in rooms with channel, round-robin or moderated turn-taking. herdbot also supports local computer use through cua-driver. there’s now a native macos app too. a status menu, ⌥space quick entry, chat for bots and rooms, first-run setup, and approval cards with notifications. The easiest way to try it is:
sh
brew install --cask slogsdon/tap/herdbot
open herdbot and choose "set up everything". it installs the command-line link and launchd service, then helps configure a starter bot. you’ll need macos, herdr, and at least one signed-in harness cli. rust is only needed if building from source.
