Last night I was reviewing some things that I haven't used in a bit, and I nearly forgot how much I desperately miss Elm. Turns out, it's in active development again! https://elm-lang.org/news/another-step-towards-elm-v1

elm-lang.orgnews/another-step-towards-elm-v1A delightful language with friendly error messages, great performance, small assets, and no runtime exceptions.

Anybody still writing vanilla PHP scripts, no frameworks, little to no Composer dependencies, like it's the 2000's?

Martin @nightcodingOct 21

Yes! Mostly just using symfony console package for that

I suspect that, like Javascript (or at least browser scripting) this will become easier and easier over time. Not for whole apps, we will still want Laravel's scaffolding, but for utility scripts the fewer dependencies the better.
