GitHub org might not be necessary, we’re looking into the events RFC. Ill talk about it later today in my stream FYI
There are many event platforms. My 2 cents is to have better integration than building our own. Please talk to Dries for eventy.io

Noted. Thanks for clarification. I organize meetups. Some kind of showcase would be nice for organisers as well but i understand this is not helpful for many. But hopefully this would encourage others to organize. :)
