i went through something similar recently. i ended up running a series of knowledge transfer sessions about both sides: projects, processes, strategies, etc. one topic per session. rotated session leaders between the orgs, and also randomized a “devil’s advocate” for each session to ask the “Why do it that way?”, “Did you think about this?”, etc type questions. Every session was recorded then parsed for notes, open questions, glossary of terms that then went into a shared team knowledge base.
actually answering your question. i loved that my team was as set of empowered self-led people. we were all aligned about what we were trying to do and why.
