~/.agent-env/bin: yes, that's the best of both. It's a fixed entry, so it goes on PATH once at boot (profile.d + /etc/environment) and reaches everything. Install drops links into it, so commands are live immediately and clashes are caught. Then why not put components there too, ~/.agent-env/components/<name>, so the whole system lives in one dir? Review: noted. The Haiku reviewer will also flag every implementation detail a user didn't need, and I'll cut or move those. Language: Python, stdlib only. Debian's python3 (3.13) is already in the image and has tomllib built in, so no pip and no venv. Bash can't parse TOML, and node has no TOML parser without a dependency. The entrypoint (bash, root) would call the same Python reconciler that agent-env component install uses, so boot and install share one code path.
