Thanks for sharing your perspective. Totally makes sense to self-host, if you had bad experience with cloud hosting in the past. Also, Hetzner is absolutely great. In terms of pricing, I'm really surprised by Laravel Cloud, because of their scale-to-zero functionality. So you only pay for your services, if they are actually in use.
